EMBARRASED?? NOT ME!!

After enjoying mums party we left to check in to our cheap hotel room in the city.  To our surprise there was a problem with the room (water damage) and we were given alternate accomodation.  Knowing the sub-standard of the booked room, we worried that we may be in an even worse room that maybe didn't even have 4 beds.  But luck strikes the Clarks!  We were re-routed to a very fancy suite, one street from the mall with 2 large bedrooms, kitchen, laundry - well lets just say it was a sky home!  It was so magnificent and 40 floors up with windows all around made it very impressive.  (Our littlest one wouldn't even look out the window, let alone walk over to it, it was that high.)  What a delight for us to get the royal treatment, the room was soooo bright all the photos got shadowed, but take it from me, after a meal (or more) at the pancake manor, a room just 40 floors up is a great luxury.
After our magnificent sleep in at our house in the clouds we felt a little richer and decided to treat ourselves to an buffet breakfast at the Sofitel - known for great breakies.  It was fabulous and we enjoyed our walk through town to get there - when I say walk - I mean chasing Rocci through the streets.  He was full of hearty pancake from the night before and was keen to get moving. Of course a good run is followed by some stretching...... A few dozen push ups.......... And a hundred or more sit ups. If I had known he was going to have one of those energetic, "I'm never going to stop, work out till I drop" sort of days, I would have just gone to MacDonalds where weird and wild children abound.  You havn't lived until you overhear your 5yr old child giving work out tips to a waiter in a first class 5 star hotel restaurant.  Embarrassed?????  No, we were mostly just puzzled.

Relative Overload!

Over the weekend we had a fabulous opportunity to catch up with family and old family friends.  Happy 60th Birthday mum.  Thanks for having a party.  Great music, great food, great day!  I thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with my cousin and getting to know new baby Claire.  I think it was also fabulous for all of the little cousins to catch up and get to know each other better also.   Sadly I only took one photo of the whole event but I look forward to sharing more when they are shared around.  It was great to see Uncle John all the way from the Maldives and Uncle Sam all the way from Melbourne.

Remember me?

I took the time on Friday to call my hairdresser and tell him of my displeasure after my last visit (see earlier blog).  I have never complained before about a bad cut or colour, because in perspective to life itself, my hair is relatively unimportant, but thought long and hard about how to approach it.  To my delight he invited me to come in immediately and have my hair fixed to a colour I like better.  And "voila"  I feel vibrant, creative and I look like I'm actually in full colour for a change.  Much better!  Not that this is the only thing that happened this week, but, it is the most obvious and I love it!
