We are not a family of tradition at all, but my sister in law (Hi B) is always creating opportunities for traditions at home. It has forced me to think a little broader than our regular unconventional traditions like when I yell "hurry up" every morning before school. I've had to think broader than the daily tradition of brushing your teeth. And certainly further removed from one of our favorite little traditional sayings of "Don't shoot at your mother with a machine gun." No, we have actually done some thing enough times now for it to actually be a THING!
We have been enjoying a hot breakfast every Sunday morning. Bacon, Eggs, Hash Browns, Pancakes, sweet bakery treats and more. Infact we have even been experimenting with hash brown recipes instead of store bought ones. We love to fill the table up with fine foods and gorge ourselves silly, and discuss the weeks adventures. 'Voila' - we finally have a tradition. Even if a big Sunday breakfast seems a bit old, we have never done it. It's our tradition and I hope it continues into a time when the boys bring their children over for a big Sunday breakfast. Robbie seems to think it will be a bit tricky when he's out in space to make it back every week, but if someone can't make it, we'll talk about them behind their back instead. ha ha ha! I thought next week we might take advantage of a park nearby and take the guitars and do a big cook up/sing a long. Yippee, cant wait
Rocci loves setting the table for the feast.
